Hey guys, anyone tackle replacing the fuel filler hoses/pipes? Went to fill ours up today after months of work in the garage, and after a minute of filling we started getting a puddle on the ground. So, looks like we can add this to the list, but was wondering if anyone had some words of wisdom for us.

So, no surprise as to why it was leaking! That “protector” holds all the sand and salt against the filler lines...and they simply rot out. We finally sourced a new set of filler lines...and the lines into the tank fell out during the installation. So, new tank, straps, hoses, bolts, etc are all ordered up. This project is starting get expensive. LOL

Ouch! That's pretty rusted out.
When I LS swapped a Cutlass we used AN line and strapped it in along the underbody. A little late for that now though if you've got the parts ordered

Yeah, we have new OEM *everything* from the tank back to the filler cap. Lot of stuff. I’m letting my local dealer handle the installation as their lead tech has done a ton of Eclipse fuel tanks over the years. We did a crap ton of work on this car ourselves, but I finally had enough and called in reinforcements. LOL

Ouch. He's done a ton of them eh? That has me worried hahaha. I wonder how mine is all looking.
What's that all ending up costing, parts wise, and labour?

Will find out this week. Tank, filler pipes, fuel pump flanges, hoses, protector, etc was about $1000.00 in parts. I’ll let you know how the labor ends up, although I’m not sure I want to know... lol

On the plus side, not reusing old parts will cut down on time. Eg, cut the old tank straps, drop it all to the ground... Lots of cutting instead of bolt shaped rust

Lots of cutting instead of bolt shaped rust Yeah, I was adamant about not reusing any of that crap. Even if it could have been pieced together, it would have been a problem down the road for sure. I know my son is excited to get it back soon. We’ll have to start a build thread soon!

As Long as I don't have any surprises this year, I'm going to be starting to part together a fuel cell with return style setup. My fuel lines aren't as bad as yours were, but they aren't far behind.

That would be neat. Evo fuel rail?

Yep evo fuel rail. AN fitted. External pump filter and regulator. Priced the parts out to about $700. Most expensive part is getting a buddy down here to fab the trunk up for it. If this year goes well it will be next winters project.
