I'm glad you're enjoying it. I feel like I take pretty non flattering pictures usually. I will probably dump my collection of reference pictures though when I'm done for anyone who may be helped by them in the future. Got a shitload of the timing components

Crazy size difference on the rod. No clearance issues?

Shouldn't be. Haven't assembled it yet, but I can't see any reason it wouldn't work

Well if it works I'm going with that rod. Quick question though since you just stripped that motor down, are the rockers just solid lash adjusters on the screw or is there an actual lifter on the opposite side of the valves, Just confused on how the 4G64 had lifters and I can't find anything for the 4G69.

Sorry, just stripped the block for now. The head will come later
Also, if you plan for less than 600hp, there's a way cheaper rod option. I think it was around u$340. The ones I'm using are around u$600 I think (I paid in C$, and through a wholesaler, so what I paid (c$870) isn't very relevant in the state's)

Gotcha, unless I switch out this trans or send it out for a little upgrading i'm stuck at 300hp or less. Which I think Will be fine for me. Shopping around For a used motor I can strip and start building fresh for a baby Turbo setup.

Check for shitty Outlanders and Lancers. You get lots more than just the long block, and you can part out for profit no engine

Never thought about that. Found a couple last leg eclipses for $1,000. Do you know what years the lancer ran the 4G69? Think it was 2002-05.

Sounds about right. Be careful you don't end up with a 4G64 in an Outlander as well

So, the machine shop just honed my block. It had a 2thou taper, so they took that out.
When checking the pistons, they found they're 3.5 thou too small for the proper piston-wall clearance!!
I have an email from Manley saying they're the right size, yet even if my block was totally brand new, it still would be 1.5mm off from what's required by their own specs. Nasty setback. I'm giving Manley a chance to make it right, but
I'm definitely not happy, not for $1000

Manley reluctantly gave me a return number. They're not covering shipping, and they're not replying to my emails. The woman on the phone is dreadful to talk to, I'm not buying a Manley product ever again based on how horrible these people have been to talk to.
They're just barely honoring their mistake, and definitely not in a satisfactory way. They mentioned they could make custom ones to fix it, and I'd be able to have those after mine are returned and inspected for quality control but that I'd also have to pay extra and it would be a long wait time.
I'm honestly worried they're gonna get them, measure, say they're the right size, and fuck off with them without a refund. The girl is also super reluctant with the word "refund". She kept insisting on a "credit". I told her a credit is useless to me because they don't make anything I'll be using, then she agreed to a refund without saying refund. Just "yes" to my question if I'll be getting a refund NOT a credit
Overall experience has been terrible with them. It was the girl at the "orders" department I mainly spoke to. Very childish, very grouchy.

I did an E-transfer to my part supplier who was going to return them with or without me getting a return number. This way I save the restocking fee Manley would have given him
New 87.5mm wiseco pistons are ordered. Decided to drop to 8.2:1 compression as well
