I'm gonna see about speed density instead. No MAF that way

Speed density tune, than add some water/methanol.

Sure will. Also I increased the rev limiter. 7000 was too low. Now it's 7800 and is much happier

Did you upgrade the valve train?

Nope. Our springs are 60lbs, 4g63 Evo springs are 50lbs. Lift is similar. Evo stock head revs past 8000. I'd have to imagine ours is fine for that too.
Flow seems fine, it doesn't fall on its face. I have a different intake manifold though
Back on the 4G69 manifold there wasn't any point in revving above 7200rpm on this setup. Now it's tire screaming fun to the top. But I also use 4th gear in town instead of 5th now due to loss of bottom end power being so extreme on the new engine/intake combo

Is it pretty boggy until 3500 rpm and being in boost?

Below 2000rpm nobody is home. It'll even make 3psi at 2000rpm, but even so. It's not a good city cruising rpm any more, as I find I have to go full power for that RPM to hold my speed if there's any hills, and have to drop to 4th gear a lot, so I cruise in 4th at 60km/h now. On the last intake, I could do 45 in 5th gear just fine
But the last intake didn't have the top end ability, and being my racecar, that's what I'm looking for

Well at least you know to plan on it. Pretty much 5th gear is your overdrive.

Picked up a hood, pair of tail lights, and a trans mount from Alex at Mr. Bishi racing. I've got some modifying plans for the hood, it'll be one I cut up for my venting. Tail lights I'll either hit with tint strip or some paint inside them. Trans mount, I'm gonna stiffen up with polyurethane. Mine have waaaay too much flex. And for fun, a picture

Upsetting but neat at the same time. I went to the drag strip tonight, and ran 14.5 at 99mph.
Turns out my slicks are circuit slicks, lol. I was doing 2.3 60' launches (every damn time), even after burnouts. On my street tires I was able to do 2.1 60', and they have far less rolling resistance than slicks. I was burning through 1st and 2nd gear tonight on them, where as my street tires hook in first usually.
No 13s for me yet, but it'll come... On street tires even... I DID pull on a Focus RS with a catback, CAI, and stage 2 tune though. My MPH was better, but she had a 1.9 60'
Still, an amazingly fun night and the first one out with the turbo GS. I can't wait until Michael has tuning support for higher power. I'm considering standalone ECU

I got a software update from Michael, and I was able to do some more tuning. As I tried to turn the boost up, I set my controller from 60 duty cycle to 70... 11psi. 80%... 11psi. 99... 11psi.
I think my wastegate spring is too soft
UPDATE: I added some preload (5mm). Now it *can* hit 14psi (did by accident), possibly more. But I max out the MAF anyway at 11psi

Still a good run for GS. With increase from turbo, track slicks, and a better trap you should be in low 13's.

Yeah. It's the same MAF as the GT, and mine pegs 4.9v. So I know that no GT without a standalone or piggyback is making more power at least. So it should put me in good competitive territory for a 4G.
Michael is working on a hybrid speed density/MAF still. So I have to be patient. And if you ask him, I'm really bad at waiting hahaha

lol, he actually reached out to me to let me know he hasn't forgotten about me, that he is seriously backed up at the moment. Current tune he gave me has all the power at the top, so 80-120mph is really good now. But I feel the stock ecu would run around 13.2 afr with decent acceleration, now it's around 14.3 afr. Speed Density is the way to go over 8 psi from what I've read. Curious to see how far you can push it before end of season.
